  2. Submit the free SG Arrival Card within 3 days before you land.

What catches Australians out

Vaping is illegal. Bringing e-cigarettes into Singapore carries fines from SGD $2,000 and they're confiscated at the border.

Drug trafficking carries a mandatory death penalty, and Singapore tests arrivals suspected of consuming drugs before entry.

Some medications common in Australia (including certain codeine and ADHD drugs) require prior approval from HSA.

Fines apply for eating and drinking on the MRT, jaywalking and littering.

Health cover for Australians in Singapore

No reciprocal agreement. Singapore's hospitals are excellent and priced accordingly — a night in a private hospital can exceed AUD $2,000.

Vaccinations: No vaccinations required. Hepatitis A sometimes recommended.

Medications: Several medications legal in Australia need an HSA import approval. Check before you pack anything containing codeine, sedatives or stimulants.
